It was sooo dark in here! All the plumbing just looked and felt old. It was time for an update!
That's it for now! I hope to share more rooms with you soon!

Today on the blog I'm revealing our powder room makeover here in Pebble Creek! I had some friends over last week and they had the nicest things to say about this bathroom, so I thought it would be fun to share it with you all! It's actually been done for several months now but I finally pulled out my camera to snap a few pictures. This bathroom was a complete gut job (scroll down to see the before pictures). Like many of the older homes in Pebble Creek, this bathroom was covered in wallpaper, which was then painted over. We had all the wallpaper removed and started with fresh walls and new texture. The paint alone brightens up the room! Because this bathroom will be used by our guests, we wanted to add some fun elements like the penny tile, shiplap wall and farmhouse sink. We also had a custom vanity built so we could use this classic white, vessel sink on top. We had a pedestal sink in our last house and wanted to switch things up here at our new house. We weren't sure what to use for the counter and finally decided on a stained wood. I was a little concerned about the wood being in a wet area but so far we have not had any issues! It was hard to photograph the light fixture, but in this picture you can see we moved the electrical to the ceiling. I like the way the light hangs from the ceiling rather than the traditional vanity sconce above the mirror. And although most work was done by professionals, Bryan and I tackled the job of adding shiplap to the back wall. It wasn't too big of a project and we love how it turned out! I'm so thankful for my handy husband! In order to keep the cabinets consistent, we replaced the doors on the upper cabinets so they would match our new vanity. You can see just a glimpse of the upper cabinets in the mirror above! We went with a white penny tile on the floor and a light gray grout color. It looks so pretty with the gray walls! And I feel like the glass balls on the light fixture tie in with the penny tile... but that's probably something only I notice! Ha! I wanted to keep the decor in here simple, so there's just a few counter accessories and this canvas art about "good friends." This was originally in our guest room, but I think it's perfect for our powder room too! And now for the "before" pictures... It was sooo dark in here! All the plumbing just looked and felt old. It was time for an update! Why do I look so serious taking this photo?! Here you can see what the original cabinet doors looked like. What do you think of this bathroom makeover? Please feel free to leave a comment - I love reading them! Also, let me know if you have any questions about sources.

I think I eat more when I am upset. Some people are not like that. They totally lose their appetite when they are sad. It's normal to be different. I think we both need to separate the hunger or lack of appetite from our emotions. That can help a lot when trying to be healthy despite having gone through all these running thoughts that tend to impair us. When we are depressed we need to be careful also with our diet. It will hurt more if we get sick for real when we are already too hurt inside to begin with.
