I had so much fun helping a sweet friend style her bookshelves recently! She has a huge wall of shelves in her living room, and another small wall in the entry. The goal was to make the shelves look "pulled together and less random." We focused on the living room and I have to admit, I loved looking through all of her stuff! We joke about all of her "vintage" items like the typewriter and rotary dial telephone! She already had this blue planter with succulent, so we added two more on other shelves to create some repetition. The antique scale was one of my favorites, and I found this small lamp tucked away in the cabinets below. When styling your shelves, try to add some baskets and lay books on their sides rather than sitting straight up. Check out this Webster's Dictionary! These types of things make the shelves fun and interesting to look at. How precious are their two girls?!? I love the way the shelves turned out! They are colorful and fun, and well, they make me feel like I'm at home! Let me know if you need help putting some finishing touches on your own bookshelves. As always, I'd love to help!

I love bookshelves. They don't need to have actual books. I just like how they make very good house decoration. I sometimes want to create fake catchy title and paste them on real books people don't read just to get people to start reading them. I thought titles like "How to revive dead kittens" will get someone's attention. They will all start picking books. It's a cool prank and I am sure they will also like the books they picked up accidentally. The real books will never be school books but honestly, I would want to catch up on whatever I missed in school.
